Crime at the U

At least once a week I receive an email entitled "Campus Safety Alert..." should I just put these in my junk mail because the descriptions of the criminal tell me nothing. Thank you whoever wrote this...you have just described half the people on this campus. Yeah it sucks that this is happening so much more frequently, but people also have to realize that this is a big city and its not a smart idea to be walking by yourself anywhere at night. We all think that it couldn't happen to us, but why should we take the chance? Usually if you are with at least one other person or stay on busy roads you don't have as much to worry about. So be alert and stay safe this year!

I agree with you. It's very frusterating to see this happening so close to home, but it's reality. I do think, though, that the university does have a responsibility to inform us, and email is the best way. It freaks me out, but I just try to stay smart about things.

i completely agree, wandering around at night alone is definitely not a smart thing to do. but now a lot of the alerts we have been getting are during the day! which is super creepy, because that's typically the time when people feel the safest...
